I'm sure he had many a cross to bear, but this title really commemorates the crossroads located near the old country doctor's place outside Cootehill. Ed tried to find these crossroads during his '69 visit, but to no avail. The road had been changed some years back, and the doctor had long since gone from the old place that Ed knew as a child.
