Anselm Lingnau writes: The story is that Hamish Henderson (of Edinburgh University School of Scottish Studies fame) was about to be awarded a decoration (MBE or some such, I keep forgetting). He declined this on the grounds that (approximately) he was not about to accept such from a government that participated actively in the nuclear arms race.
